Antenatal Course

Manukau Parents Centre offers a fantastic antenatal learning experience for mums and dads preparing for the arrival of a new baby.

  • A seven session programme to thoroughly cover the birth process as well as initial baby care and feeding.
  • A qualified Childbirth Educator to provide you with quality, up-to-date information
  • Support for after your baby is born through coffee groups, new baby courses and activities for parents with their babies.

Sessions run from 7.00pm to 9.30pm.

At the end of the programme we aim for you both to feel knowledgeable and confident about the parenting journey ahead.  

As a Parents Centre member it doesn't stop there...

With Parents Centre completing this course can be just a beginning.  Afterward you can keep in touch through a coffee group or via Facebook.  

Later, once your new baby has come along, you may find you have a whole new set of questions and choose to sign up for our Baby & You programme. Either way you'll also be enjoying the other benefits of membership including discounts, our regular newsletter and a subscription to Kiwiparent magazine.


We offer two great packages for expectant parents. You can choose either;
  • Places for both parents at our great antenatal course and a one year MPC Membership for just $195


  • Places for both parents at our great antenatal course, followed by the Baby and You programme for new mums and a one year MPC Membership for just $240 

Antenatal Course Dates and Availability

Our antenatal programme runs on Tuesday nights for 7 weeks, from 7:00 pm until around 9:30 pm.

Course 1:    12 January - 23 February 2021

Course 2:    16 March - 27 April 2021

Course 3:    18 May - 29 June 2021

Course 6:   2 November - 14 December 2021

A non-refundable deposit of $60 is required at the time of enrolment. You may wish to pay the full amount at this time.

Your enrolment is only confirmed/secure when we receive your deposit payment. We require full payment two weeks before the course starts in case we have a waiting list and need to confirm participants.

Once we receive your enrolment form our antenatal co-ordinator will contact you to finalise arrangements.  If you have not heard from us one week after submitting/sending an enrolment please contact Kim as per below.

When is the best time to do an antenatal course?

We recommend you enrol in a course so that you finish between 2-4 weeks before your due date. Our Antenatal Coordinator will be able to identify the best course for you.

How often do you run your antenatal courses?

We run 6 courses a year so we're likely to have a course that will suit your due date. Check out course dates and availbility here.

When should I enrol for an antenatal course?

As soon as possible, once you've confirmed you're pregnant. Click here for enrolment details. 

Who will I meet at this antenatal course?

Most of our attendees live in Wattle Downs, The Gardens, Hill Park, Totara Heights, Manurewa, Papatoetoe, Takanini or surrounding areas.


Our Antenatal Course Venue

From 2019 our antenatal courses will be held at The Gardens School (see address and map below).  The school is just a short distance from the Auckland Botanic Gardens.
