Manukau Parents Centre Committee

Local parents, just like you, do all the tasks big and small at Manukau Parents Centre - with help and expertise provided by our national head office.

Our Committee is made up of volunteers who give a few hours a month – taking responsibility for a specific role and working on projects as part of the wider team.  It’s a family friendly and fun group.

Our Current Committee

Linden Vazey - President

Linden joined the Parents Centre committee to contribute her organisation and communication skills and volunteer with a great team of like-minded mums while on maternity leave with her first child.  She attended Antenatal and Baby and You classes in 2015. She started helping out as the Baby and You Co-ordinator soon after and became President in 2016.

Tania NorthChildbirth Educator & Committee Member

Tania joined Parents Centre through an antenatal class and became part of the committee in 2006.  She is now a qualified Childbirth Educator and a stay at home mum for her three children (two boys and a little girl).  Kaynan was born in 2006, Brennan 2008 and Danae 2011. Tania previously worked as a Travel Agent.

Jamie Smith - Childbirth Educator & Committee Member

Jamie and her husband Craig attended Parents Centre antenatal classes in 2009 and have been members ever since. They moved to Auckland with sons Luke and Oliver during 2013. While working and caring for her family Jamie became a qualified Childbirth Educator. She is now studying full time to become a midwife and teaches antenatal classes part-time.

Belinda Barnett - Past President

Belinda joined Parents Centre in 2011 after the birth of her second child Alexander. Her daughter Olivia was born in 2009.  She has been our Marketing & Events person, Vice President and also was President from 2014 to 2016. She now works full time in Human Resources.

Emily Harrop-Smith - Regional Newsletter Editor

Emily joined in 2009, along with her husband Bruce, as an attendee at an antenatal course. Their son Isaac was born three weeks early so Emily missed the last night of the antenatal course, but had enjoyed it so much that she started volunteering for the Parents Centre in 2010. Isaac's sister Abigail was born in 2014. Emily was our President from 2011 to 2014. She combines volunteering and parenting with contract work in the area of Adult Education.
