Christchurch Parents Centre is run by volunteers. To be able to continue to run and provide the services that we do, we are reliant on recruiting new volunteers. At the moment, we have a significant shortage of volunteers and desperately need your help! We are all parents first so babies and children are often at our meetings and events. Plus we welcome Dad's to come along and help out too.
You can come along to our meeting to see how we operate and choose a role that suits you later. Or you can tell us what skills you have to offer and we can find a role that suits you. You don't need all the skills to take on a role as training and on-going support is provided. We encourage you to learn something new. You're most welcome to share a role with a friend and to swap roles when you need to. Many hands make light work and much more fun!
Christchurch Parents Centre depends on a significant number of grants to be able to continue to provide the services that it currently offers to the community. Be a very important person for our Centre by completing our grant applications in accordance with the schedule that you will be provided with. Work closely with the Treasurer and the rest of Committee to identify funding shortfalls and weave your magic to help fund new initiatives. If you are meticulous and strive to succeed, then we want to hear from you!
If having a specific role doesn't suit you and you just like to muck in helping with anything we would welcome you as a Committee Member. Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month in the evening at McDonalds Merivale. It is a great opportunity to be more involved with Parents Centre while meeting some new people.
Childbirth Education course Liaison People
If you don't feel you can commit to a monthly meeting, perhaps a more general volunteer could interest you? Being a Childbirth Education
course Liaison Person means you only need to commit your time to one night per week for seven weeks. You will work with our Childbirth Educators to ensure the course runs smoothly and even share your parenting experiences if there is an opportunity. Ideally we have two liaison people per course, so why not help out with a friend?
