Special Interest Sessions Overview

Special interest sessions are planned throughout the year.  Course dates are advertised in our newsletter and eNews, and on the CAPC Facebook page.

We use experienced and passionate people to speak at our courses.  Check out our speaker profiles.

Members receive discounted access to courses.  Non-members are welcome to attend courses at the full price.

We generally run our Special Interest Sessions at Athol Syms Hall, 11 Griffin Ave, Epsom.

You can book a course by contacting our Course Bookings Officer on bookings@capc.org.nz. We endeavour to respond to emails within three days; sometimes we need to be parents more than volunteers so if it takes a bit longer please bear with us.

Baby Talk Basics (Baby Sign)

Know your baby has something to say, and despairing that they have not yet learned the words to express themselves?

Lean the basics of baby sign so your pre verbal baby can "tell" you understand what they need and want.

Our baby sign language course can help fill the communication gap until your baby has mastered the spoken language. Some studies suggest that sign language may ease frustration in children, as they are more able to express their needs and wants. Some findings also suggest developmental benefits. But most of all, it's another great way to strengthen the bond between you and your growing child as he or she explores the world.
