Childbirth Education
Whangarei Parents Centre offers antenatal (childbirth education) classes where you can meet like-minded people to learn about birth and parenting. We promise you a fun and casual learning environment, and a great coffee group once you’ve had your baby to give you ongoing support and friendship.
Our Childbirth Education classes, which are held one evening a week for 7/8 weeks, will prepare you for the physical and emotional changes during labour and include:
- Signs of labour
- The labour process
- The role of the support person
- Pain management
- Infant feeding
- Practical parenting
- Hospital visit
The fee of $190 ($174 community services card) includes Childbirth classes, one year membership and also includes Baby & You, a two-part workshop to help parents with newborns face the challenges of being a first-time parent. Topics include:
- Feeding
- Sleeping and crying
- Child development
- Relationship changes
Classes are held at the Whangarei Parents Centre, 13A Te Mai Rd, Whangarei from 7-9pm. Bookings are essential to guarantee you a place in our popular classes.
