Parent EducationTimaru Parents Centre offers a range of parenting courses and workshops, all designed to suit the changing needs of your growing family.
You can attend any or all sessions of any course. Places are limited so book early. Courses have discounted fees for current members. Most courses and workshops are held at Timaru Parents Centre rooms, 9 Napier Street, Timaru.
Our main courses include:
Blooming Bodeze - exercise class for pregnant women using yoga and pilates to help prepare your body for childbirth.
Bodeze Back - exercise class for postnatal women, and you can bring your children along to the class too.
Moving & Munching - This 2 week course on a Wednesday morning, aimed at babies from 4 months onwards, will give you information on starting solids and how to care for your baby now they are mobile. The sessions include baby safety, development of motor skills through play and toys and introducing solids and establishing good nutrition. With the course you will receive The Baby Food and Beyond Book FREE.
Parenting Focus Nights - We currently offer a Parenting Focus night 4 times per year. In 2011 the focus nights are: Term 1 - Choosing carseats and pushchairs; Term 2 - Toilet Training; Term 3 - Best Start to School; Term 4 - Childcare Options in South Canterbury
