BABY & YOU

An essential course for babies aged 0-5 months.

The course runs over 6 sessions and covers a variety of issues aimed at helping you
settle into and enjoy parenthood. Great for meeting other Mums!

Topics Include:

* Feeding and Sleeping - encouraging good feeding and sleeping habits

* Health and Growth - How to deal with common infant complaints

* Baby Massage a great way to bond with your baby

* Postnatal Changes Looking after yourself

* Child Development How your baby grows and develops

* Infant CPR Keeping your baby safe

 
Baby & You provides the opportunity to share experiences and meeting others adjusting to
similar changes in their lives.

WHERE: Parent Centre Rooms, Linton Park Community Centre, Kamahi Place, Rotorua
WHEN: Wednesdays 9:30am - 11:00am
START DATES FOR 2012: 1 February, 2 May, 18 July, 17 October
COST: Free for Parents Centre members, non-members $50

MOVING, MUNCHING & TOY MAKING
A course for babies aged 6 12 months.
The course runs over 3 sessions . All participants receive a FREE Baby Food and
Beyond Recipe Book.
 
Learn About:
Baby safety now that they are mobile
* The development of fine and gross motor skills and how you can assist
* How babies learn through play and age appropriate toys
* The development of language and intellect and how you can stimulate this
* Introducing solids and establishing good nutrition
* Making your own inexpensive toys and books*

MAGIC MOMENTS
Parenting consciously to create communication for co-operation
 
The course runs for 2 hours a week for 3 weeks and covers the following topics:
  • The 6 principals of effective discipline and how they apply in your own life

  • Understand the development stages and milestones of pre-schoolers

  • Help children express and deal with their feelings

  • Understanding the difference between discipline and punishment

This parent support programme has been developed in association with The Ministry of Social Development,

SKIP and Parents Centre New Zealand Inc.
