Palmerston North Parent Centre currently has the following exciting positions available. We are always looking for enthusiastic people to fill committee roles, to ensure we deliver the best possible experience to these who access our services. In return for donating their time, volunteers have the chance to develop skills, make friends, and make a real difference to families in our community.Please contact us on palm.nth@parentscentre.org.nz for questions/expressions of interest. Opportunities currently available are: Postnatal Convenor This exciting role is great for a people person, and involves the coordination of all our parenting seminars. A time commitment of around 8 hours a month is required`, some of which can be easily done from home. Ideally, ...the convenor would be available during evenings, to host seminars. The role includes. - Developing a yearly calendar of up to 10 seminars in collaboration with the committee. - Promotion and marketing of seminars. - Seminars Logistics; enrolments and organisation - Organising volunteers to assist with seminars. - Overseeing the seminar budget. A full handover and support would be offered by the current convenor. Fundraising Coordinator This role involves creating and coordinating fundraising events and initiatives for the centre. It would potentially involve about 4 hours a month work, including attendance at our monthly meetings. The role includes...: - Liaising with the Finance team in regards to funding needs - Planning, developing and coordinating events such as sausage sizzles, raffles etc - Creating new fundraising initiatives that will raise the profile of the centre. Marketing Officer This diverse role links Parents Centre to the Community, and keeps our name and services in the public eye. It would potentially involve about 4-6 hours a month work, including attendance at our monthly meetings. The role ...includes: - Developing a centre marketing strategy - Liaising with newspapers, and local media to raise our profile. - Helping develop and distribute marketing materials Treasurer This role involves overseeing the centres finances, and involves around 4-8 hours a month work, including attendance at monthly meetings. A full handover and support would be offered by the current treasurer. The role would ideally ...suit someone with some finance/accounting background, but would also suit an organised person wanting to gain new skills.The role includes: - Payment of invoices (mainly via online banking) - Payment of expense claims. - Coding of monthly transactions and generation of cashflow and ledger reports (Banklink) - Preparing ledgers for grant accountabilities. - Presentation of treasurer's report at PNPC Committee meetings. - Preparation of annual financial statement with accountant.
