Parent Education
Invercargill Parents Centre believes in quality parenting education for all parents and caregivers. Whether you have a 3 week old or a 2 year old, we have courses designed to help you be the best parent you can be. An integral part of these courses is meeting with other parents and caregivers in similar situations and discussing all the tribulations and celebrations that go along with having a young one (or two, or three!) in your household! We endeavour to provide relevant, varied and affordable parent education courses to the whole community, if you are an Invercargill Parents Centre member most of our Parent Education courses are free! Just take a look at what we have to offer!!!!
Baby and You
Designed for parents and caregivers of children aged 0 - 3 months
Moving and Munching Designed for parents and caregivers of children aged 3 - 10 months
CPR
Desgined for parents and caregivers of children of all ages.
Topic of the Term These evenings have a varied range of topics. Some of the topics held previously are; toileting, behaviour management, baby talk. If there is a specific topic you think parents could benefit from feel free to email your idea to: invercargill@parentscentre.org.nz please put Topic of the Term Idea as the subject heading.
Other Parent Education Evenings Every now and then we hold one off evenings with speakers on varying topics. So far in 2009 we have had Lauren Porter speaking for the Brainwave Trust and Wendy Parera from Teeny Tiny Consulting speaking on Literacy and Numeracy and Child Developement.
