Antenatal Classes / Childbirth Education
All our classes consist of a 7 week evening course.
Specific details of the course will be outlined by your Childbirth Educator, but all courses cover information for pregnancy, labour and birth, and early pregnancy. Courses will be tailored to meet the needs of all participants. You are usually about 29-31 weeks when starting this class.
Cat Taylor:  I have been apart of the Parent Centre for nearly 7 yrs now and have held many
positions in the time, Secretary, Baby & you co-ordinator, Baby & You
facilitator, Music & Movement Facilitator and for the last 3 years
President.
I have two children, Ryan is 7 in January and my little girl Reegan has
just turned 5 and joined the school system.
My partner owns his Barber shops in Morrinsville and Te Aroha.
I have been hostessing Antenatal classes since I started with Parent Centre and
while doing I this I thought I think I can do this, so I applied to do my
training. After 2 very long and mentally tough years of training I passed
my Diploma in Childbirth Education. I was already being employed with the
Morrinsville Centre but as my training came to an end I got calls from
Hamilton, Cambridge and Otorohanga. So for the last 2 years I have been
teaching at each of these centres throughout the year.
I love meeting new expectant parents and every new group comes with its own
dynamics and interesting characters. I have really enjoyed my time
helping first time parents to deal with the ups and downs of preparing for the
birth of their baby.
We have classes for 2011 starting on the following dates:
- Monday 10th January to 21st February
- Monday 7th March to 18th April
- Monday 2nd May to 13th June
- Monday 27th June to 8th August
- Monday 22nd August to 3rd October
- Monday 31st October to 12th December
Which class you are in will depend on your due date. We will confirm your class when you book.
Costs:
$95 includes 7 wk CBE Class (No Membership)
$215 includes 7 wk CBE Class, 6 wk Parenting 101 Course & 1yr Membership
$175 includes 7 wk CBE Class, 6 wk Parenting 101 Course & 1yr Membership (with Community Services Card)
