Antenatal Classes / Childbirth Education

All our classes consist of an Early Pregnancy Night (EPN) and a 7 week evening course.

Early Pregnancy Night

This evening is held approximately ten weeks before the start of the Antenatal / CBE Course. It covers information about looking after yourself during pregnancy including nutrition, exercise and stretching and some self-help techniques to make yourself more comfortable during pregnancy, alleviate some of the discomforts some people experience during pregnancy and to help you to begin to get ready for birth. It is a relaxed evening in which you will also meet your Childbirth Educator, Course Support people and other course participants.

Antenatal Classes / CBE Classes

Specific details of the course will be outlined by your Childbirth Educator, but all courses cover information for pregnancy, labour and birth, and early pregnancy, including a tour of the delivery suite at Waikato's Womens Hospital. Courses will be tailored to meet the needs of all participants. You are usually about 29-31 weeks when starting this class.

Which class you are in will depend on your due date. We will confirm your class when you book.

Costs:

$195 includes Early Pregnancy Night, 7 wk CBE Class, 5 wk Baby and You Course & 1yr Membership

$155 includes Early Pregnancy Night, 7 wk CBE Class, 5 wk Baby and You Course & 1yr Membership (with Community Services Card)

$240 includes Early Pregnancy Night, 7wk CBE Class, 5 wk Baby and You Course & 2yr Membership
