Situations Vacant
Gore Parents Centre is run by volunteers and we are always on the look out for new recruits. This can be anything from delievering newsletters in your area every other month to stepping up to become president one day.
If we have helped you in the past through the courses we run, would you consider giving your time to help others?
We have the following vacancies at the moment:
Moving and Munching Facilitator In this position you would be responsible for liaising with speakers to schedule courses, marketing the courses appropriately, being present at the sessions as a hostess and facilitator. This is a great way to meet other mums. The course runs for 3 sessions approximately 4 times a year.
Tinies and Tots Facilitator
The Tinies and Tots programme is for mums with babies age 10-18 months. You would be responsible for liasing with speakers to schedule courses, marketing the courses appropriately, being present at the sessions as a hostess and facilitator. This course has not yet been established. You could also take on setting up the course, including sourcing guest speakers. However if you were not keen to do that, Bernadette would set the course up and then hand it over ready to be run.
Conscious Parenting Educator Parents Centre has two nationally run courses - Magic Moments and Parenting with Purpose (more information on these courses is available here ) The courses are run by trained educators who are paid for their time. It would be great to train someone based in or near Gore to run these courses, and the training would potentially give the educator the chance to run thse courses regularly in various locations. Actual details about paying for the training would be negotiated with the appropriate candidate.
Newsletter Co-Editor
This role involves organising and collating the content for our bi monthly newsletter. The role wouldnt necessarily have to involve writing all the content yourself, although there may be some of this. It would involve leading a small sub committee of contributors, gathering the articles, filling the gaps and then passing on to Tash who does the layout work and makes it look beautiful.
Newsletter Contributor (we'd like lots of these people!)
This role involves writing one (or more if you like) article every second month to contribute to our newsletter. You may like to produce a regular feature page (such as the recipe page) or you may like to be able to select a topic to research and write about each issue. This role is flexible to suit anyone who is interested.
Publicity Officer
Responsible for general publicity of the centre and events. This would include occasional press releases for the Ensign about events or activities that are coming up or have just happened, keeping up to date information in our window (soon to be notice board on the wall outside our rooms) and in the Plunket rooms, and possible creating and maintaining a scrapbook which shows off the things we do (this could sit in our rooms for people to flick through at any time). It could also involve making flyers for upcoming events. The size of this role is flexible though as aspects of it can be picked up within other roles.
Please call Bernadette or Jacqui on 03 208 7309 if your interested in any of the above positions or email
